Inca Jungle Trek 3D/2N

Day 1: Cusco – Biking – Santa Maria Pispitayoc (Rafting – optional)

We start the Machu Picchu Inca Jungle trek at 5.30am when we will collect you from your Cusco hotel. We will then travel together to the beginning of the bike ride with a journey time of approximately 3 hrs. On the way we will discover unique landscapes with beautiful and enchanting views as we make our way through the sacred valley to the first stop on our tour, the Incan town of Ollantaytambo. Here we will have time to enjoy breakfast (this breakfast is not included and is optional). After breakfast we will continue our journey until the mountain range of Vilcanota. Here we will reach the highest point on our trip, at 4316 mts, known as ‘Abra Malaga’. From here we begin our decent by bike which will take approximately 3 hrs. On the cycle down we will pass ecosystems unique to the Andes and the jungle. After enjoying the sights and our bike ride we will finish in the town of Huamanmarka where we will enjoy a delicious lunch buffet.

Our journey then continues to Santa Maria where there is the possibility to enjoy rafting (optional activity) for 2 hrs along the river Urubamba, located at 1200 mts. We will pass through the Tunkimayo valley before finally driving to Cocalpampa where we will have a short walk of approximately 30 minutes until we reach the community of Pispitayoc.
Here we will stay with a local family for the night.

Day 2: Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric station- Aguas Calientes (Tiroleza)

On the second day of our tour we will start at 6.30am with a traditional breakfast in Santa Teresa. After which we have the opportunity to take a zip line (this is an additional activity to the tour and is optional). The weather on this day of the Inca Jungle trek will be typical of a tropical climate. After we have finished todays adventurous zip-lining activity we will travel from Santa Teresa until we reach the central hydroelectric power station. Very near here there exists a sacred Inca ceremonial site, or Intihuatana, waiting for us to discover. Finally we conclude our day on foot, walking in the town of Aguas Calientes where we will head to our lodgings to rest and spend the night on comfortable beds. In the evening we will enjoy a dinner with our guide during which they will inform everyone about the following day’s plans.

Day 3: Machu Picchu – Cusco

On the final day we will start early at 4.00am in order to see the sunrise at top of Machu Picchu. This stretch of our journey will take about 1 hr 45 minutes to reach the top. After we have enjoyed this magical moment we will have a guided tour, lasting approximately 2 hrs, to enlighten us on the rich history of the ancient ruins around us. After visiting Machu Picchu, at about 11:00am we return by walking (2 hours) to the Hydroelectric where our bus (3 pm) waits to return to the city of Cusco, arriving around 9:00pm.
